![]() ![]() ![]() Extend a Wireless Network – configures itself and works for about 48 hours and then the device gets lost and it permanently flashes yellow, nowhere to be seen on the network without a restart – if it’s relying on the wi-fi from my Time Capsule, this may be why it loses connection.Ethernet in (via TP Link) – Create Wireless Network – give it the same SSID (doesn’t seem to work at all and I’ve not managed to get the green light of joy once).I’ve tried various ways of setting it up, with the following results: I decided to buy an Airport Express mainly to give me AirPlay into an old speaker, but I thought it would also act as a useful network booster for wi-fi and Ethernet. The wi-fi in there is not bad but not great. I have a TP Link extender in there which successfully gives me one Ethernet connection, which I’ve connected to the AEX. Right, so I have recently set up a new study upstairs to house my Mac and PC laptop. New AirPort Express in Study (connected to TP Link Ethernet #4, which works).4x TP Link Powerline adaptors – one of which extends the wi-fi successfully as a roaming network in the extension, the rest are Ethernet only and all work fine.Time Capsule as main base station router connected by Ethernet to modem.Virgin Media Cable Router (in modem mode).I’ve read through many threads on similar topics, and thought I had concluded the answer, but remain unsure as every time I think I’ve nailed it, it doesn’t work again. ![]()
